Dr. Laci D. Rector

Dr. Laci D. Rector

Upon returning to Cody, Dr. Laci D. Rector started Rocky Mountain Family Dental after acquiring the previous dental practice that had been here for 40 years. She originally moved to Cody when she was 2 years old & has considered it “home” ever since. Dr. Rector believes dentistry is a fine art and a passionate dentist truly makes a world of difference. She has made countless updates to her office & is committed to using current, top of the line techniques & technology within her practice. It is extremely important to her to gain the trust and respect of every patient who walks in the door. After graduating from the University of Colorado’s School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Rector continues her education at the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. She is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

When Dr. Rector is not perfecting smiles, she loves spending time outdoors camping, hiking, & fishing. She connects with her native patients in this regard as well as being a prior Cody Night Rodeo barrel racer.

Dr. Rector whole-heartedly looks forward to brightening each smile that enters her office, & will settle for nothing less than the absolute best quality of dentistry for her patients. She always feels rewarded when she gets to see her patients smile. There is just something about the power of a smile that cannot be explained.

We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions so that our patients can always stay informed.

Are you accepting new patients?

Absolutely! We proudly welcome new patients to our practice.

When is the best time for a child to start seeing a dentist?

We suggest starting a child’s regular dental visits as early as age one. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that children be seen by a dentist within 6 months of eruption of the first tooth or 12 months of age, whichever comes first. Early detection of tooth decay is the best prevention for future problems. These visits also let the child get used to visiting the dentist at an early age so that we can create a happy and positive experience for the future.

How do I know if I am brushing and flossing correctly?

Brushing and flossing properly is the best way to care for your teeth, and many people aren’t sure of the correct way to do it. If you are not sure about your brushing and flossing technique, please ask us at your next visit! We’ll be sure to give you all the tips and tricks to make sure your smile stays beautiful and white.

What is the purpose of fluoride?

Plaque bacteria and sugars submit your teeth to acid attacks which breakdown the minerals in your teeth. If enough minerals are not replaced through food and water consumption your teeth will decay. Fluoride helps to strengthen your teeth against this de-mineralization.

What is the difference between an amalgam (silver) and a composite filling?

The most obvious difference between the two fillings is the color: amalgam is your typical silver filling while composite fillings are tooth colored, therefore making amalgam fillings considerably less aesthetic. Please ask us on your next visit if you are concerned you need a filling, and we will discuss all of the options available to you.

Picking a dental office you can trust is a big decision. You can rest easy knowing that at Rocky Mountain Family Dental, you and your smile are our number one priority. With years of experience, we are proud to provide our patients with the exceptional, personalized care they deserve.
